Can anyone recommend a Disability Lawyer or consultant? Wife suffering hell with child onset autoimmune diseases.
My wife has been suffering her entire life (since childhood) with essentially multiple autoimmune disorders ranging from Multiple Sclerosis, Child onset Ankylosing Spondylitis, TMJ, Pots, and other auto immune and circulatory system ailments. they grew up dirt poor and never went to proper doctors as children. her father used to say "everyone is in pain" growing up so she just learned to suffer through it. the last 10 years its gotten so bad that she is constantly wanting to end her own life. her existence is miserable and we've thrown multiple biologics, drugs like LDN, prednisone, steroids, pain killers etc. currently on Cosyntex, Lyrica, and multiple SSRI's for panic disorder, anxiety, etc. we believe the constant state of pain growing up has added to the Anxiety and Panic disorder especially when we look into her dysautonomia diagnosis and possible link to mast cell activation syndrome.
Anyways, is there any benefit to seeking a lawyer to get her on disability? I work as an engineer in Oil and Gas so income wise i doubt we qualify for any benefit but i get laid off so often we are scared the next time i do and we lose health insurance she will be SOL. what benefit could we see from getting her on SSDI or something even if with my income only i doubt we would qualify for any monetary considerations while im employed? she does not work and has never had a job since her pain and symptoms have made it impossible for prolonged sitting at a desk or definitely no laborious work. she bed ridden now about 50% of the time and we recently had to buy her an electric wheelchair so she can do small tasks like get groceries or go anywhere outside that may involve standing or moving more than 10 minutes.
