Calling plays like our OL is the biggest strength, 0 creativity, and 0 nut sack…
These are just a few of the reasons why hiring a completely inexperienced OC has been a disaster.
When we inevitably move in to another new OC, it will be CJ's third one in his first few years. Not good!
We run from shotgun with the field spread out a lot early in drives, but somehow think the goalline is the time to tighten it all up and bring all the defense on the ball and run it up the gut.
Then we call longer developing pass plays with no designed QB movement. CJ is great in the pocket when he has time, but that's not going to be often with this OL. Hell, Mills tried his best to move his slow ass around when he was pressured immediately, but the calls weren't helping at all.
Can we maybe hire a seasoned OC who has proven they have some creativity and balls please.
There have been plenty of teams with doodoo offensive lines but we're still somewhat successful. The difference is that the OCs on those teams adjusted and designd plays with the shitty OL in mind. Caley seems to be doing the opposite. He's calling plays like we have the early 90's Dallas Cowboy OL.
On a positive note, our defense is elite. Unfortunately our offense just consistently puts them on their heels. We just end up hoping the defense bends and doesn't break…over and over.
