ABC13 reported break-ins at Arrive River Oaks, they simply kicked in the front door to gain access.

Consider installing a high security strike plate. I've done this at every apartment I've ever had with no issues, they increase the strength of the door jamb by quite a lot.

For less than $20 it can be installed with a cordless drill. Just make sure the measurements match up with your door, there are a couple options for sizing. Definitely pre drill holes for the new 3" screws so the heads don't snap off.

This is a simple way to make a residential door much harder to kick in. There's no way this person would have been a victim of this crime if she had upgraded the security of her door, especially since she had ~$100k in property stolen.
