Breakdown from the Aaron Wilson & Over the Cap Twitter Space

Everyone in this sub knows who Aaron Wilson is. For those that don’t know, the person that runs Over the Cap, is a Texans fan. This was a dual space between the two, but Aaron had to dip out 1/2 way through to an important phone call so the rest of the questions turned to predictions about the draft and about current Cap Space.

If you guys haven’t used Twitter Spaces, you should. It’s the best way to ask questions to people actually in the industry.

The stuff that I personally say sometimes comes from a friend of a friend that works in the Texans FO, so it’s just stuff that she overhears while she does her normal mundane job. It’s not necessarily reliable. Aaron Wilson is obviously more reliable.

Here’s what was said in the Twitter Space:

• The bare minimum for any team that even wanted to talk to Watson was 3 firsts.
• The initial offer from the Browns was “soft” they had to update their offer to even be allowed to talk to DW.
• Wilson believes that Watson favors going to the Saints first. He heard that from someone that works at the Carolina organization, not from the Texans or the Saints organization.
• The Browns are essentially in last place from Watson’s side
• Once Watson waives his NTC, further negotiations will occur, but it may not be drastically different from the initial package that they offered
• @TexansCap said the Pharoh Brown contract shocked him for being so high and thought it he was overpaid
• Watson’s number one priority is the ability to win
