Born and raised Houstonian now with kids; Where do we live?

Born and raised in Humble, Tx and have lived in midtown for 10 years. Now we have kids and can’t figure out where to live?

Our #1 priority is walkability. Ideally our kids could walk to school, we could walk to the grocery store/dinner/parks etc.

However we recognize that you get way better bang for your buck in the suburbs (which we very much dislike).

We want to stay in Houston. We make about $225k household income so all of the desirable areas inside the loop (with decent schools) are mostly out of our budget.

Nowhere seems like a great fit. Tough!
