Black Women in HTX are at risk for contracting HIV and that needs to change!

In 2020, AIDS Vu released information regarding the current state of the HIV epidemic in Houston. It was determined that Black Women in Houston are 19.1x more likely to contract HIV compared to White Women in the Greater Houston Area. Unfortunately, since the data has been released ,HIV trends have spiked and are affecting Black and Brown communities. This statistic is both jarring and alarming…. what are the gaps and barriers in our community that are preventing uplifting the sexual health and wellness of Black Women? How can we tailor health promoting messages for Black Women? How can we stop this and protect our communities?
