Bizarre "road rage" incident. Was I in the wrong?
This happened about an hour ago (7:30 PM) and I cant figure out what went wrong here. I'll try to explain this as best as possible.
So I'm driving down Travis Street (one way street towards downtown) and turn left on Anita street heading west. As I'm turning, there is a car parked on the right side of the street (so the car is right in front of me on the side of Cali Sandwich strip center). Anita is a two way street and there is a car coming towards me on Anita (opposite direction, left side), I stop behind the parked car to yield and allow the incoming car to pass me since the two way lane only has enough space for two cars to drive. As he's coming close to passing me and the parked car, I slightly turn my car left (with blinker on) to indicate that I'm trying to continue forward and go around the car parked in front of me. As he get's closer to me, he stops his car completely so I'm blocked behind the car thats parked in front of me and his and I cannot go between the two cars. I notice it's a man as I look into the windshield since he honked at me. He didn't have his blinker on and didn't turn his car to indicate he was trying to turn into the strip center parking lot. I just sit there and wait for him to continue driving in order for him to turn left on Travis and nothing happens. He continues to honk at me. I cant do anything!!! I'm stuck behind the parked car in front of me, his car is also blocking me completely, and I'm not going to put my car in reverse (that would have me backing right onto Travis street with oncoming traffic). So I continue to sit, and he just stares at me with his hand on his chin, as if he's trying to spite me or something. I then roll down my window to tell him I'm trying to go around the car parked in front of me and he needs to move up a bit and allow me a bit of room. He continues to just sit there and stare with a petty look on his face. He eventually moves up barely, just barely allowing me enough room to squeeze between his car and the parked car. I mean when I say barely, like I had to steer it just right to avoid hitting the cars. I then speed off as quickly as possible to get away. It was so strange. I'm a female and I already don't like driving at night, but this was a very strange scenario. Who was in the wrong here??
