Best spots to see Houston Downtown?

When I say this, I mean spots somewhat far away where you can see the city as a whole and somewhere you can park rather than on the freeway. Spots where you are close and can see it sorta as a whole are good as well, such as the park by Downtown (I believe Buffalo Park?) Thanks in advance.
