Best Restaurant/Activities Near Airport

My son will have a six hour layover in Houston Friday. He's never been to TX. I'm new in Austin and plan on driving to pick him up for a few hours. Any suggestions on best BBQ or other activities we could do in a couple hours near IAH? He's never had TX BBQ.
