Best places to stay/eat while in the city for a game?

As the title implies, my family is travelling to town for a game this season. Week 5 to be exact, and no, we’re not Bills fans lol.

I’m hoping to get some suggestions/advice. The Museum District looks cool, but are there good hotels, restaurants and nightlife? Is downtown the place to be instead? Someplace else entirely? Any comments are appreciated!
