Best neighborhood with close commute for a college graduate?

So I recently got a job out of college where I’ll be working in downtown Houston and I am absolutely thrilled! Super hyped to try some of the food down here. I was researching different neighborhoods where the young professionals are but wanted to hear everyone’s thoughts.

I’d like to be somewhere with a short commute downtown if possible. I was reading up on different neighborhoods like Midtown but heard the crime rates there aren’t the best and there’s a lot of homeless people (unless maybe there’s certain areas in Midtown that are better than others).

Money isn’t an issue as well, I was really fortunate to get a good entry level job which I’m super excited about. If you guys have any suggestions or input on the area that’d be awesome.
