Best Italian

I’ve never had a memorable Italian meal (excluding pizza) and almost always avoid going to Italian restaurants because they’re all mediocre to me. I feel like I can make a similar dish with little effort at home. I want to test the theory that I’ve just never had great Italian before. Please recommend an Italian restaurant that is indisputably great (and not pizza).
