Best Hotels to Stay?

I am traveling to Houston for the Christmas Day game this year and looking for recommendations on places to stay/transportation to the stadium. I’ve seen other posts say to stay in the museum or downtown areas and ride the light rail, but I’m wondering if they will be operating on Christmas? Thanks!
