Best Hiking in Houston (for a Mother’s Day hike)?

We used to live in NY where beautiful hiking was everywhere. It seems a bit harder to find in Houston. I wanna take my wife, her mother, and our 3 teenagers hiking for Mother’s Day in the Houston area. We are all capable of moderate hikes on actual trails in the woods (as opposed to flat gravel paths a truck could drive down like in Jones State Forest).

Any suggestions out there fellow Houstonians?
