Being Muslim in Alvin

Some background- My husband and I are Hispanic but Muslim. I cover and my daughter’s do too. My sons can pass off as Hispanic but their last name is a dead giveaway for being Middle Eastern.

My husband might get this job in Alvin. We live in Alief (go Rams!) but would have to move closer to his job. We both like the idea of living in a small town. But I am worried about how safe it is. He isn’t concerned as much but he is white passing. I can’t hide my identity. I have pretty thick skin and am super extroverted so I don’t mind talking to folks and making friends but just have no idea what to expect if we moved to Alvin. Idk if it is worth the risk.

Is Alvin as racist as folks tell me it is? If so, any suggestions for places to live no more than 30 minutes away?
