Being cheep=regression

Ok now I didn’t expect us to go get ohtani at all. I didn’t expect us to get Yamamoto, hell I didn’t expect us to get Blake Snell. But this team has to do something. Like I understand that the tv deal situation is ugly as hell with the Astros losing like 20-30 million in revenue but other teams don’t even have a plan for next year and are going to lose way more than the Astros. Like Shota just signed with the cubs for like 4 years 50 million your telling me the Astros couldn’t try and put out a competitive offer. Like Nerris is reportedly gonna sign with the Yankees any day now (on a side note holy fucking overpay on the Yankees for Marcus Stroman) you need to take a financial bullet sometimes to have a good team. This feels like a 85 win team at best next year with all the bullpen arms we’re losing plus Verlander will probably regress with him being another year older. We’re losing talent and it’s not getting replaced. I’m gonna honestly be kinda happy next year when we won’t have to worry about paying Breggy like 30 million a year and not living up to it (love Breggy but he’s not a 30 mill a year guy) Maybe we try to resign Altuve and make some other additions with that freed up 30 million in 2025

All I’m trying to say is I don’t really have much faith in this team heading into this year. The talent is being lost and no effort is being put in by that cheep f**k Jim Crane to replace it. The farm system is clearly the worst in MLB too with no prospects who could be a centerpiece of a mid season trade or come up and impact the team in 2024 (hell the Astros probably don’t even have any prospects who could even make the top 100 in MLB next year)

Anyone else agree and is frustrated at the lack of money and the shitty farm system
