Being a Texans fan is so weird…

Been a Houston sports fan all my life, and it is so strange. Astros fans are pretty great, and so are Rockets fans (I wish we’d show up to games on time, but lots of NBA teams have this problem). But there’s something strange about being a Texans fan… there’s this weird sense of dread among fans. You can hear it in the crowd at games, even when we’re winning. I’ve been to a bunch of different stadiums, and our crowd just has this palpable fear you can always hear, it’s so weird. And even though we are a top 5 market in the league, we don’t seem to fill up the stadium, even when we’re good. It’s embarrassing that CJ had to make multiple statements about fans showing up and cheering when they’re supposed to… This offseason was maybe the high point of Texans optimism, and now most fans I see are really pessimistic, even though we won our division and have a totally winnable playoff game despite all the injuries and craziness they dealt with all year.

I just wish there was more fun and optimism surrounding this team, but there’s always so much doom and gloom. This team is going to be competitive for a while, especially in this division. Let’s get our s**t together as fans.

EDIT: one thing I forgot to add, it seems like other tortured teams with a lot of bad luck/losing in their history (Saints, Bills, Browns, Jets, Lions, etc) their fans all seem to kind of embrace that and have fun with it. We don’t, we just wallow in dread haha
