Becoming a electrician
I’m 29 and have a BS degree from University of Houston. I am thinking about becoming an electrician, for the past 7 years I have worked doing final cleans for a small commercial construction company while in college. This job doesn’t pay much but I was also a actively touring musician so was able to take as much time off as I needed for band stuff. Now covid has taken away any band stuff and I am working very little with a degree feeling pretty directionless.
My dad is a electrician and I have been going to small jobs with him for the past few months and have really enjoyed it, understood much more than I expected (mostly because the math and science I learned in College)
Long story short…I’m directionless, about ready to give up the rock and roll lifestyle, have 0 job experience and have never used my degree.
Where would be a good place to start in the electrical trade?
Thanks and sorry about the rambling post
