Be 4 Youth – scam?

A gentleman knocked on my door today asking for donations for “Be 4 Youth”. He had a few dirty looking laminated sheets and a little spiel including him getting commission on donations (???). I wasn’t listening closely to be honest because I was caught off guard. Donation options were all in $100 denominations. The whole thing was weird. I asked if I could consider and donate later online and he said sure but the website wouldn’t be up until next week.

Instagram and Facebook show accounts with no activity since 2021. Website doesn’t work.

What’s the deal here? Scam? Checking out my house for a robbery?
