According to Bank of America data, finding homes is difficult these days. Housing supply is tight, as measured by months' supply. The average housing supply in the United States in June. However, the data isn't flawless as it only accounts for active listings and pending transactions. To better examine the housing market, Anna Zhou used Census Bureau data to calculate dwelling units and population ratios. She compared this ratio to population trends in cities. Some cities have limited housing supply with an expanding population, while others have high housing supply but a declining population. Zhou paid special attention to recent migration movements to assess the health of the housing market.
