Baggage delays at Houston Airport?

hey there, I'll be flying into Houston in January. I'l be flying direct from Canada.

Have there been any issues with luggage sitting around for weeks (like we are having in Canada in Toronto and other cities)?

I can't fly carry on as it's a 9 day trip so I will have to check luggage.

Thanks and really looking forward to visiting your city as it's my first time there. Will be staying in the Galleria area.
