Bad luck with union industrial and construction jobs

Hello I’m f20 the beginning of this year I decided I wanted to try becoming a crane operator I was currently working at Home Depot as a freight team associate I hated my overnight schedule I have a brother I talked to who is in safety and he said he could help me get a faster way into the career just to let him talk to some people and he’s get me right in I blindly put all my trust in him and I quite my job may 8 he advised me to get my osha 30 and I did and I would have to message him to kind of remind him, a month or so later he said the owner of maximum crane was coming on his job site that he’d talk to him then I had such high hopes till he told me he was interested until he found out I was a girl it honestly broke my heart I knew I would have problems in this industry because of my gender but I never thought it would be problem going into it especially with a recommendation already my brother in law is pretty good in what he does he has some sort of rank already and kind of known around so I’m sure he thought he had it in the bag as well but he told me that he said “ I don’t want the guys acting up” it sucked but I accepted it and he sent me the apprenticeship to local 450 but they don’t start taking applications till next year I ended up applying at a iron workers union I interview in June he said he’d call back for training didn’t call back till middle of July I would ask and he’d tell me he needed more people for the training I train June 25th and I do my drug test and basic plus the beginning of august I’m hoping I get called back soon, I also apply at this rigger’s apprenticeship for tnt crane it would start august 28 I believe I called and asked about the test just in case I need to study for it the lady says the interview is the test but I go and they just gave me the test I’m pretty sure I did well on the math part but everything else I didn’t know s**t like what the f**k did I even call to ask for anyways I obviously don’t get a call back for that and the other guy says things will pick up after Labor Day still haven’t gotten a call back 2 weeks ago I saw a post on a Facebook group I’m on for refinery jobs for fire watch says projects for a month starts September 15 I go on a Friday he says I’m hired I’ll receive a email to go drug test I don’t receive anything the whole weekend I have to call Monday so many times they finally send it I go drug test Tuesday I sign my disa and finally I call this past Monday for them to tell me my background check is still pending like Jesus Christ what happens after the job is done I go back to being unemployed??? Ifffff I start working this week I’ll only work for 2 weeks and be layed off again ? I’m planning to go apply at my local pipefitters union 211 Tuesday but damn man I’m tired of this these past months have been so depressing I don’t want any pity and I know it’s my fault but I just feel so lost in life why is it so hard to get in I have a Twic basic plus osha 30 my drivers license I have a lull license made but I just need training and hopefully my brother in law is going to help me soon with that but I honestly don’t know what to do I feel like I genuinely do try everytime I go “interview” or whatever I get hope that they take me and see some drive in me but when they do there’s no updates or s**t and it sucks just being here in the dark
