Awesome places to eat and drink w/live music?

My brother and I are taking a weekend trip to Houston in a couple weeks. We are staying about 15 minutes from Downtown and NRG stadium. This is mainly an R&R little trip. Originally we planned it for a concert but my tickets sold for double the price. Needless to say, we are still taking the trip. Looking for recommendations for great food, good drinks, live music and entertainment.
