Avoid Greystar like the plague

I applied to the Broadstone Toscano, a Greystar property, a few months ago after touring in person only to hear my application was rejected an hour later. Apparently an old Greystar apartment I lived in charged me ~$100 for 2 trash bags many months after move out and sent the bill to collections. So I immediately pay off the old account and get back to Broadstone. They give me the runaround about requesting a re-evaluation. I get a bad impression from this and decide this is not the right place to live. Come to find out months later they’re trying to bill me $300 for an application fee! Not only that, but they actually billed me twice because of a screw up on their end.

When I called Broadstone I got the “you need to talk to the billing department” with the non local number that sends me straight to voicemail. The Broadstone agent straight up hung up the phone on me after telling me there’s nothing he can do.

Mark my words, avoid Greystar properties like the plague. I left the previous Greystar apartments because they raised my rent 30%+ in a single year. Mind you I live alone, pay my rent on time every time, never annoy anyone. I’ve learned my lesson, always check the bottom of leasing websites for the Greystar logo and to avoid them at all costs.
