Cristian Javier’s historically good season

So he was the “number three” starter. I was diving into some historical stats and found his K/H ratio was one of the best in recorded history, 2.18 (that’s 194 strikeouts and only 89 hits allowed). The only ones I could find with better marks were 2000 Pedro Martinez (2.22) and 2019 JV (2.19).

Javier flew under the radar with all the assorted star power on the team, but he very quietly put together one of the best seasons ever.

Curious about interest

I’m a blogger over on Crawfish Boxes, and I’m workshopping an idea for a series of articles. I’m not trying to spam here in order to collect page views, merely trying to gauge interest.

I’d use a randomizer to determine a plate appearance from somewhere through the Astros (and Colt .45s) 6`1-season history. I then break down the season to that point, the game, and pay special interest to the plate appearance in question. I really like doing the research. I just wrote one about Danny Darwin in 1987 (although it’s not yet published). My question to you all in here: Would you like to invest 4-to-5 minutes to read one of these once in a while?
