Abandoned kitten

I found an abandoned kitten living by a tree on Post Oak blvd. I don’t think the mother is nearby because I saw the kitten hiding yesterday and today it looks pretty desperate. It seems to lack food and shelter. I have never owned cats so really don’t even know what breed or how old it is. It is a very small kitten so I would say less than 8 weeks (but more than 2-3). Any suggestions on where to take it? I know most shelters will probably euthanize it. I don’t know if there are alternatives in Houston. When it comes to cats I am totally clueless but I do feel bad just leaving it there. I doubt it will survive long like this. Edited: Here is a picture. We bought kitten formula from a store and gave him/her some. But I honestly have no clue how old it is.
