Thoughts on GM O’Brien POST-Draft/Tunsil Extension

I was very hesitant of Bill O’Brien taking the reigns as General Manager, and the Deandre Hopkins Trade made me paranoid about the direction the Texans were going. But then, on the Day 1 of the 2020 NFL Draft, news broke that Laremy Tunsil & the Texans had reached a deal on his extension. The Deal was BOTH a Player & Team Friendly Deal making Tunsil the Highest Paid Lineman in the League with a only $14M Cap Hit, leaving the Team Space to do some final FA Signings and begin to negotiate Deals with Watson & Cunningham. The Draft went better than I predicted with Ross Blacklock, Johnathan Greenard, John Reid, Charlie Heck, & Isaiah Coulter being smart picks, the first 2 being possible starters. I’ve realized maybe some of my criticisms are not fair and I should give O’Brien a chance before I criticize, even though Hopkins was a Texans Legend.

Going forward, I’m giving Bill O’Brien the benefit of the doubt and saving ALL my criticisms for the next Offseason. I really like the Tunsil Extension & Our Draft Picks and I want my Texans to Thrive this Season like I know they can! GO TEXANS!
