Could use confirmation of good distractions while in town

Long story short, my oldest child is sick and will be at Texas Children’s for at least a week. We have 2 younger children (10 and 6) with my wife and I. We were on vacation in Galveston from Dallas when this happened. We’ve been very COVID cautious this year. I work from home now and mostly just go out for groceries which is usually a pickup. This vacation was carefully planned to be safe. We have a small bubble of some family and friends that practice the same safety. Now we have a high risk child to consider.

I looked through the wiki and I think these are the best options for entertainment and distraction while in Houston:

Hermann Park

Buffalo Bayou

Discover Green

Museum District – came here years ago and recall the Rothko display was nice and airy

Waugh Drive Bat Colony

Montrose? Seems more of a food and drink attraction

We really need to stick with spacious and outdoor options so we can control our own social distancing. We have a room across the hospital. I’m vaguely familiar with Houston from a couple prior trips to visit friends and driving through to Galveston many times. Oh and we started homeschooling (not remote/Virtual with the ISD) so bonus for anything remotely educational.

Thanks for the wiki info and any other input you may have.
