Should I Rent a Car or Use Uber?

I’m visiting Houston next month. I’m flying into Hobby, staying in Midtown and will be going to baseball games at Minute Maid Park and at Rice and University of Houston. Renting a car is going to cost $175, plus gas,plus parking costs. Should I just Uber around? When I did the fair estimate it would be about $100, but I know surge prices can jump things up. What’s the surge situation? Is this $100 estimate going to turn into $300? Thanks for the help.

I Plan on Taking a Trip to Visit Minute Maid, Can I Get Some Help?

As the title suggests, I found a cheap flight to Houston and plan on staying fron Fruday, April 22nd and leave the 25th. I’ll be flying into Hobby Airport and I’d like to see other parts of Houston besides the games, but it isn’t a must. Where should I stay? I’ll be by myself, so I’d like to stay somewhere safe while trying to keep hotel rooms under $100 a night. Is the METRO as safe as they say and is it reliable or do you have other suggestions for getting to and from games?

I found La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Houston Galleria Area would cost me $220 for the long weekend and the METRO would be a little under an hour each way. Seems like Uber would be $30 a ride, so I want to avoid that. Are there other ways to get around Houston?
