Hi all,

I was born and raised here but honestly I can't say I know much about the city outside of Cypress. I'm looking to start apartment hunting for the first time soon and plan on living by myself (25F) with my cat (15M), but I know just because the photos of an apartment complex look really nice online doesn't mean it's in a safe neighborhood (and I don't trust random articles on google).

If I'm willing to spend up to 1.5k/mo on rent, what are some good areas I should be looking at? My company is fully remote so commute isn't an issue, but after 10 years of driving here my hatred for driving has only gotten worse, so any area that's even slightly more pedestrian-friendly than Cypress is a plus (not that I expect much since it's Houston).

Any additional tips for moving within Houston (like what companies to look into for certain utilities, etc) are also appreciated!
