Honestly just saw a post about this in another city sub reddit and want to warn everyone.

If you see someone with a violin and a speaker, they are a scammer. Theyre not actually playing the violin it's a really common scam. I'm not sure if they're up in the city too but there has been one outside of my workplace on 646 every weekend for a while now and honestly it pisses me off everytime I see them so I want to warn everyone about this. I moved here from out of state and I played the guitar and sang (still do sometimes, if I've seen you thanks lol) for extra income when I was homeless. Back home I had a person like this steal my spot almost every day so now I like to call them out. I'm not saying the dont need the money I'm just saying if you're donating because of the skill, I'm sorry but it's a recording :(
