Read MoreMy almost 12 year old dog can’t get a break, he just tore his left ACL. About four years ago he tore the other one (rigth side) we never had surgery on it due to health issues on advice of vet, and he seeemed to be doing good. Now that he tore the other one, I’m thinking he may need surgery, if its even possible now, on both of them. My vet doesn’t do the surgery. Anyone had this done in Houston and had good experience? Anyone had a similar situation where one tore and didn’t do surgery, and then the other tore? I’m devastated, this dog is my world, but I don’t want him in pain. I’m not even sure if surgery will be an option, he is diabetic, has high liver and pancreas labs, and has IBD that is so hard to control. Im thinking at this point the risk of surgery might outweigh the alternative. Any advice or vet recommendations???

Hey Houston peeps, anybody with good dog vet recommendations, preferably one who does cytopoint injections? My senior dog has a lot of health issues, and my regular vet is getting harder to get into, and they always give me the “new vet” who doesn’t seem to be helping his current issues of constant hot spots my dog keeps getting. I’m hoping to get a vet who gives cytopoint injections, and possibly help uncover what’s causing the hot spots. Anywhere in Houston area, I’m willing to drive. Thanks so much for any help.

Guys, I’m no sissy, but good lord the agressive drivers have gotten out of hand here. I’ve lived here my whole life, and never seen it this bad. I live 5 minutes from work in the med center, so I don’t venture out much.
However this morning I went to a store only a few miles away. I got stuck behind a car and a truck having an ego fight, I guess one honked at the other. The car was in front, and came to a complete stop to purposely block the road and truck, and the guy in the truck was laying on his horn blaring it. I was stuck behind them with nowhere to go. The car would go a few feet, and Then stop just to piss of the truck. Then they both started driving erratically, and swerving purposely trying to crash into each other. WTH, I had no way around them, and nowhere to go. I had my dog with me and was terrified someone was gonna pull a gun out. Finally they turned down a road, not sure what happened after.
Then a few minutes later a car next to me started to merge into another lane with a car in it, almost hit them. The car that almost got hit started having a fit. Then a few minutes later a guy comes barreling down the street honking his horn, I’m not sure if it was meant for me or the guy beside me. We were going the speed limit in a school zone. He was in a hurry I guess, and thought the world must move out of his way. I’m overly conscious of staying out of people’s way, and going the speed of traffic.
Oh yeah, and my brother had a railroad spike thrown through his passenger window because he accidently cut someone off apparently. A friend of a friend was shot in the leg coming off 288, because the other car felt she cut them off. Anyone else noticing this craziness? It’s already stressful working in a hospital during COVID, and now you can’t even relax and go to the store. WTH is going on?
