By August 1st, Who is The Astros Starting Catcher?
I know I know, Maldy and Castro are great clubhouse guys, both are very smart, throw out runners at a high level and work well with the pitching staff. BUT, do you think there’s a chance we try to upgrade this position before the trade deadline?
They are on pace to have some of the worst offensive numbers of all time. It’s not like they are in a slump, Castro is a career .228 hitter and Maldy is a career .209 hitter. Both will be 35 years old August 1st. Thoughts?
