I'm still new to Houston, been here for almost a year. I've been living off 290 near the Beltway. Not the best area, but considering I moved here and signed a lease sight unseen, it's been fine and served it's purpose while I secured permanent local employment and learned the city. Looks like I'll be starting a new job in the Westchase area in the next couple of weeks. I'd like to move around the end of the year and want my next residence to be a place that's safe, within budget (<$1200) and also with a little bit or character instead of the same ole generic apartments. I'll probably end up in an generic apartment but I'd like to at least try for something cool since I have time on my side and not in a real hurry to do anything. Any one have any suggestions? I'm thinking Katy but not in any way determined to live in Katy.
