It doesn’t bother me when Houstonians and people from other cities tell me that they hate Houston

I don’t care if people hate Houston. I’ve lived here all of my life and leave the city whenever I get a chance. It’s too bad that decent places to visit are a 5+ hour drive away, but I make the drive anyway just to see some natural beauty and topography.

What is there to like about Houston besides the usual “it’s cheap” or “there are a lot of jobs here”?

It’s a flat, sprawling concrete jungle that looks very trashy in many areas and is miserably hot and humidity for much of the year.

Also, I find the “there’s good ethnic food here” argument to be hilarious as I’ve been to several Asian countries where cheap, spicy, tasty, and healthy food is just about everywhere, not like in Houston where almost all of the food is rather bland, expensive, and unhealthy.
