Membership Based PCP offices in Houston

I’m getting a lot of targeted mailers from these guys. Can someone explain how signing up with this newly opened One Medical is advantageous? Their membership plan is $199/year. You still have to use your insurance and pay your co-pay. From what I see they don’t even have a doctor on staff at their Kirby location, just a physician assistant.

Some of the ways they are different:
* Same or next-day appointments
* Appointments start on time
* Seamless care at 125+ offices nationwide
* 24/7 virtual care
* On-site lab services
* Longer, non-rushed appointments

To my knowledge, all of the big players like Methodist, TCH, Memorial Hermann have all of these services.

can someone ELI5 the Harris county precinct redistricting process that is currently on-going?

I see a lot going on but I’m unsure about what are the pros and cons of this redistricting.

I got this below text in an email

Under this proposal, Commissioner Tom Ramsey’s Precinct 3 would lose nearly 30 parks, 5 community centers, miles and miles of hike-and-bike trails as well as the responsibility of flood control in West and Northwest Harris County.

This proposal would, in effect, disproportionately affect hundreds of thousands of residents of unincorporated Harris County. Neighborhoods directly affected include:

  • Bridgeland
  • Cypress Creek Lakes
  • MUD 165
  • Green Trails
  • Kelliwood
  • Nottingham
  • Cimarron
  • West Memorial
  • Cinco Ranch
  • Ventana Lakes
