O’Conner screwed me over on Property Tax Protest

for 2022, I hired O’Conner & Associates after the appraised values were announced. Before the informal or formal hearing dates and before I could fill in home condition information and upload pictures in the client portal they had a sit down meeting with Harris county and got me a $5,000 decrease in value. Sealed the deal and sent me an invoice for payment.

I was furious and asked them why they didn’t wait for the informal hearing or any of my data to be uploaded and they basically told me on the phone those services are mainly used by high value homes and they do the same thing for all the low hanging fruit.

I don’t plan on paying their invoice which has been collecting 8% interest because I feel I got shafted and they didn’t represent my best interest.

What is the worst they can they do?

PS: Also taking recommendations for 2023 property tax protest services.

Mediterranean Restaurants that make their own bread

Getting tired of eating Shawarma and sandwiches in the generic pita bread which is the same everywhere. (Phoenicia and 1 other company supply bread to all of them) Looking for places that bake their bread in-house. I know a couple but looking for more options.

Arabella Mediterranean Kitchen + Grill has starting making their own bread recently but its offered on the side not used for wraps. Its good tasting though.

Mary’z Mediterranean Cuisine on Washington bakes their own bread in a giant brick oven but its just meh.

Al Aseel Grill & Cafe has their Stromboli Sandwich in fresh bread, they stuff the sandwich first and then bake it in a firewood oven

Would you lock in an Electricity Rate of 11c/KWH for 3 years?

I’m getting a little tired of finding money saving plans for “new customers”, paying the deposit and repeating the cycle every couple months. The cheapest no gimmicks plan on the market is 9.7c/KWH for a term of 3 months. With everything around becoming expensive is it wise to lock in a 36 month plan at 11c/KWH?
