Defend Abortion Rights Action Assembly
The Montrose Center is hosting an event this Thursday, which was previously mentioned in another thread. I wanted to share the information for easier access. I recognize Facebook isn’t ideal, but I’ve included the link because it has information and can be shared easily with others, if you so choose. The right-wing Supreme Court has overturned Roe v Wade, making abortion illegal for millions. And the Democratic Party is doing nothing effective to fight this. The only shot we have at reversing this attack, and fighting back against all recent attacks on women’s and LGBTQ rights, is by building a fighting mass movement of protests, direct action, civil disobedience, school and workplace walkouts, and strikes.
It will take a sustained, mass, democratic movement to win. We must disrupt business as usual and put pressure on Joe Biden and the Democrats to codify the right to abortion into law NOW; not use this as a ploy to win votes in November! Immediate protests will be crucial but we must then organize for the longer term.
Join Socialist Alternative and others this Thursday for an Action Assembly to discuss concrete next steps for building a mass movement.
