I think Crane and Click are looking at last year’s WS team and looking to keep the team at a similar level. We haven’t made any huge improvements, but I dont think we’re significantly worse either.

• We lost Correa, but Bregman looks to be back to 100%. Last year we had Carlos, but no Bregman. They may be thinking Bregman will cover what we lose with Carlos. They seem to think Pena is ready, and depending on how he does, I think our infield is gonna perform similarly to last years.
• The outfield looks the exact same, and I imagine they’re happy with the state of it. McCormick (and meyers when he’s back) were good enough to get us to the WS last year and should be fine this year (if they aren’t, we may look to make a trade). Brantley and Tucker on the corners with Yordan as DH should yield similar results.
• Starting Rotation: our rotation looks much better than last year. JV, Framber, Urquidy, Garcia is a very good 4 pitchers. And I trust Odorizzi or javier to cover the 5th spot until Lance is back. I might even piggyback the two. Odo’s ERA shoots up after the 3rd inning, but before that he’s very solid.
• Bullpen: Pressly closer; replaced Graveman with Neris, who should be a solid setup man; stanek and maton had a good 2nd half of last season. Even if Baez isn’t his best, he should hopefully still be a solid arm. I would personally like to see us add another BP arm, but the options are dwindling

We have $30+ million to spend. I’m disappointed we didn’t do more with it, but I also think we’re still better off than we were at the beginning of last season; and look where we ended up then. I think Click is looking to leave the team as is (plus maybe 1 more BP arm). His plan is likely to evaluate the team’s performances (specifically SS/CF) and possibly make some trades if there’s any major issues.

In my opinion, a lot of people (especially on twitter) are getting really caught up in the emotions of Correa leaving and are overreacting. Feel free to tell me I’m wrong about anything. I’d love to hear other thoughts.
