I just found out that my ex-husband is dead. My kids are his next-of-kin, and they’re broke college students who have had no contact with him since they were very young.

Google says there’s a county indigent program to help pay for a burial or cremation and it has to be done through a referral. I’m on hold to see if I can find out how it works, but I thought someone here might have quicker info or helpful tips. Thank you.
