Summarized list of where to get Vaccine in Harris County and Surrounding Area

*reposted my comment in megathread and put it here to help spread information*

Lina Hidalgo says “When we say vaccines open to all “adults” next week, we mean 16+. Unlike driver’s licenses, 16-year-olds with vaccine cards actually make the community safer. Sign up at http://ReadyHarris.org or at 832-927-8787”

These websites are useful to find out which stores or facilities have which vaccine and check small community clinics too

https://www.vaccinespotter.org/TX (real-time information of pharmacies of available appointments with what type of vaccine they have) instead of just going to each site one-by-one.

https://vaccinefinder.org/search/ (detailed information of which pharmacies and clinics have which vaccine) This is good information for trying to find the Johnson &Johnson vaccine at small community clinics.

This website has all the links to stores, pharmacies, hospitals, and vaccination hubs across Texas.

For those who have Facebook, check out the Vaccinate Houston- Covid-19 Vaccine updates https://www.facebook.com/groups/1107590076329878; however, you don’t need to have Facebook to look at all the useful information the group posts.

—> The Facebook group has much information on the following:

-Where to get which vaccines. For example: “Where can I find the Johnson & Johnson vaccine?”

-The process of getting the vaccine (ex: how can I get my second dose from Houston Health Department?)

Also this Facebook group is one of the first people to find out stuff!!

Ex: They are usually the first to know when Costco will release appointments for Johnson & Johnson

Based on what I saw, these are common times that stores release their appointments based on what I know (all stores below require ID, insurance card, and signing some paperwork before getting the vaccine). IF YOU DON’T HAVE INSURANCE, YOU SHOULD NOT BE TURNED AWAY!!! MAKE SURE YOU READ EVERYTHING WHEN FILLING OUT FORMS.

-CVS: check at midnight, but guaranteed at around 6 am (no account needed to make appointments); they have all 3 vaccines available. You can find which vaccine they give when scheduling an appointment)

https://www.cvs.com/immunizations/covid-19-vaccine?icid=cvs-home-hero1-banner-1-link2-coronavirus-vaccine

-Walmart and Sam’s Club: 12 am (account needed for both, Sam’s club allows non-members to sign up by making a “guest account.” They use Moderna and possibly J&J too.

—> For Walmart, you can change the time zone forward of your device to Eastern Daylight Time (1 hour before us) to catch appointments. If you try to set forward to Atlantic Standard time (2 hours before Central time) then the system will say to adjust your time.

—> Walmart allows adults 18+ to click on 50+ when choosing eligibility, they say the eligibility page will be changed later.

-Walgreens: Times could be found in the early mornings and possibly throughout the day. Need an account to sign up. All three vaccines available, check the location and search around to see which one they provide.

-HEB, Kroger, Randalls: whenever they have times and vaccines available (STILL can’t figure out a pattern)

—> HEB shows which vaccine they are giving when scheduling online. All 3 vaccines are available.

—>Kroger gives Pfizer and J&J and locations vary.

—> Randalls: I don’t know much about them since they barely have appointments. Online resources show they are giving Moderna.

COSTCO (newcomer): Johnson and Johnson vaccines at selected locations (Bunker Hill, West Katy, Pearland, and Galleria)

—>They released a week worth of appointments on Fridays. On Friday, March 26 Costco release their week of appointments just after 12 pm (noon). They do put online a few appointments online due to people canceling. If you do not have a health care provider section, put N/A or none in order for the system to move forward.

+If you need second doses, check out CVS and Walgreens. Other stores may have that option too.
