Serious question: What if the Texans have known about the seriousness and patterned allegations against 4, and have been positioning themselves to extricate the team from him for months or years?

This SI article lays out some very damning patterns of alleged abuse:This looks bad

14 Cases all following a similar pattern of behavior dating back to Mar 2020. It is entirely possible all of these are illegitimate cash grabs against an innocent man. If any of these are true, it is also entirely possible the Texans have known about allegations against 4 dating back years. I believe he is innocent until proven guilty. I believe wealthy and powerful people are often targets for illegitimate civil actions. However I can hold two thoughts in my head at the same time and I also think if I owned an NFL franchise, and knew of multiple credible serious sexually predatory allegations against the face of my team, I might be willing to otherwise inexplicably bring in squeaky clean uber Christian leadership to clean house and better position my entire enterprise in the view of public perception.

Again, I emphasize he is innocent until proven guilty, and as my personal fave player, I hope he is innocent of these allegations. But all this could explain a whole lot of the Jack Easterby — let’s find ourselves a wannabe preacher with no GM experience to come lead our organization — thing.
