Japanese Hair Salon

I'm seeking a Japanese Hair Salon here in Houston. I used to go to Arukas on Westheimer but she disappeared all of a sudden… ML2 and the others in Chinatown just don't have what I'm looking for, so I'm not looking for a Chinese or Kor…

Does anyone know where to find "haam choy" side dish?

I’m not so familiar with it but I was at a friend’s house and her mom had it as a side dish and I’m craving that flavor for some reason…but I am not sure where I can find it. It’s Chinese, I think.

It translates to pickled mustard greens and it was served with grounded bits of pork. I’m looking for a restaurant that serves it but no Chinese restaurant menu I’m looking at has this. Maybe it’s called something else? Thank you for your help!

What is parking like at UT Professional Building?

I have an appointment tomorrow at 6410 Fannin Street but I’ve never been there and I’m worried that no one answers my call tomorrow morning and I can’t find any parking info on their website. I was wondering if parking is free there, and where/how? I thought of taking a park and ride on the red line if parking is not free (I’ve never done that before so it would be my first time navigating around public transportation). I could pay for parking but I’d rather not because I’m preparing a large bill from this doctor’s visit…

Thank you in advance. You guys are my last resort…nobody I know has been to this clinic office before so any information would be great.

A topic that kind of seems like an eyesore: recycling

I’ve been looking through the TooAfraidToAsk sub recently and it inspired me to make this post. I was wondering how come we don’t do much recycling? Is it difficult? Expensive? Both? Or just don’t care (but why? I want to know your thoughts!)

Personally I would recycle but it’s kind of difficult to access (limited mobility). I remember one time when I was more mobile, I took my recyclables to a spot near the 290 and I saw most of their bins were just filled with anything. For example, the bin that should have all plastic in it, had wood pieces, glass and regular garbage items. It was very discouraging for me to find out that recycling isn’t much enforced here. I decided to do some research and I’m getting the idea that it’s just not something that is done here, and I’m curious to know how come.

Edit: to add- what do you guys do with your recyclable-eligible trash at your home? What would you do if you just threw a party and have a tonnn of salsa jars?

Looking for Chinese BBQ Skewer Food Trucks

I’m having a weird craving for Chinese BBQ Skewers…the restaurants I’ve found didn’t really hit the spot for me, so I was wondering if anybody knew of them served from a food truck.

Here’s an example of a restaurant that serves this: Xinjiang BBQ here

It’s just skewered beef or chicken but the seasonings make it so delicious!

Maybe the trucks don’t exist, or I don’t know where to look.

Houston United States Post Office Location Reviews

I haven’t been to a Post Office since I’ve moved to Houston but I am looking for one to go to cause I’ve got a package to send.

I was just curious about these really low star reviews per Google Reviews of the locations and wanted to have a discussion about it. The large number of ‘bad customer service’ in the reviews is astonishing.

What are you experiences with the Post Offices here? Which location? If you work for the USPS, any insight that you may be able to share would be cool!

If I’m in the wrong place about this, I’m happy to cross-post.
