Phil Maton World Series Appreciation Thread
I’d like to give a shoutout to my man Phil Maton in the World Series:
- 5 Games pitched (tied w/Stanek)
- 5 2/3rds innings pitched
- 8 strikeouts, best of our bullpen
- 3 walks (1 intentional)
- 0 earned runs
- 7.2% cWPA (Championship win probability added), with only Greinke (9.6%) higher on the entire team
The dude was absolutely exceptional, working around hits and getting high-leverage outs to keep us in the game. He was objectively our most valuable player over the course of the series. I look forward to seeing him keep this up next year.
