HCAD Lost Track of My Property Tax Payment
Basically title, I’m escrowed with HFCU and have a receipt from them indicating they paid my taxes way back on December 31st. I received a letter in the mail from HCAD on Jan 31 saying my taxes were late, and immediately called HFCU and HCAD and they both agreed that my taxes were in fact paid. I thought that was the end of it until I checked my mail today saying I may be delinquent if I don’t pay before the 31st of this month with interest. I just checked HCAD’s website and now it also shows I am delinquent. How should I proceed? This is my first home, my wife and I just moved in last year.
