Lizard count – Houston and surrounding areas

Alright Houston peeps, this is real talk. We can put the national s**t aside for a minute, because we all know our region is different. We are subtropical zone 9, and bugs that fly around cause a lot of problems here.

You might remember the mighty presence of the little lizards last year, up until the freeze in February. They helped keep our bug population in check, as well as the bat population, which was also decimated. The birds even took a serious loss, but the came back first.

I live on the border between Webster and Houston, and it’s all bugs and no natural predators. I’m hoping someone hereabouts has better news on that front. I love all of our little local creatures, and moreso the ones that eat bugs.
