Appraisal review board protest hearing

I need your advice for my upcoming appraisal review board protest hearing.

Last August, I bought a house with my brother. My brother co-signed because I don’t make enough to buy a house on my own. But I pay all the mortgages and everything. Both my name and my brother name are on the loan. My brother is married and he lives at another county.

I applied homestead exemption a few months ago and I received that I will only get 50%. So I appealed and received a notice to attend the protest hearing.

How can I prepare for the protest hearing? What usually happen during the hearing? What evidence do I need to provide? Thank you.

Seeking entry level IT advice

Hello IT professionals of Houston,

I’m seeking advice in how to start IT career. I’m a 32M and spent 7 years working at a grocery store. I am tired of working in retail and I would like to change career.

What is hot and latest trends in Houston? What skills are high demand in Houston?

What do you think is the best to learn in order to find a full time job? I’m willing to learn anything required for a job. I don’t have IT background and I don’t have a college degree.

I’m planning to give 3 hours everyday studying. Right now, I’m learning active directory and powershell. My plan also include SQL, C# and .NET.

I think I am also going for A+ and CCNA certification in near future.

Please give me your suggestion or feedback. Thank you in advance.
