The housing market is pretty shot now, but I want to purchase when the housing market improves. I make around 112k for a remote tech job that is stable. I am interested in moving to the greater Houston area (Cypress or somewhere closer to the city).

I'm hyper-aware the property and MUD taxes here are astronomical. I'm not too familiar with the Houston area and wonder how much I can realistically afford.

I have about 80k-100k saved for a downpayment/closing cost. I have no other debt but contribute a lot to investments like retirement, HSA, and mutual funds.

If I want to live in Bridgeland or other similar areas near Houston, what price range do you think I can reasonably look at if I want to live comfortably (meaning not house-poor)?
