St. Joseph’s Financial Aid?

I’ve been searching St. Joseph’s website for any information about financial assistance when it comes to paying for an upcoming surgery.

Has anyone had any experience with them in the past or know of a place that I could work with?

I’ve got surgery to remove an impacted kidney stone that’s about 9mm in size and even after insurance, I still owe about 2200 and need to put down at minimum, 1100 to secure my surgery.

Who knew college classes had an expiration date?

Just want to say that the 7 Year Expiry rule for upper-level credits in college is absolutely fucking stupid. The fact that when you start school or have first-year academic advising that they don’t mention that at all is entirely idiotic. It is always nice to know that if at any point you have to put your academic career on hold due to life getting in the way, you run the risk of a department telling you that what you learned doesn’t matter anymore and that you essentially wasted time/money on classes that while they are part of your major, do not work with how current department members see your field.

So shout out to UHCL and the HSH for adding to my final semester and making sure they get every last dime out of me (that I don’t have) before I walk in May.

(Sorry if this doesn’t fit the scope of r/Houston, I just needed to vent. Finally close to achieving something I didn’t think I’d ever accomplish but having my school keep putting blockades in the way.)
