What are the boundaries of what can have a police escort to circumvent normal traffic laws? If I wanted to spend a thousand dollars a day to have cops wave me through red lights and block off entire lanes on the freeway for me, can I do that?

I understand that funerals are a traditional exception to traffic laws and I guess I’m ok with that, except that it’s only a privilege granted to those families that can afford it, but nevermind….

But like, why should some MFer who is just some rich celebrity douche have the right to get privileged access to our public roads?

I just cut between a caravan of 8 luxury touring buses that were getting a HCSO sheriff dept escort because frankly they didn’t look like a funeral to me and definitely weren’t hauling heavy oversized material, they were just a group of rich and or powerful assholes.

The bus driver was BIG mad about it. Like some peasant just offended his liege.
